Access to Education in East Africa
Our NGO ensures education by offering free tuition and nutrition to vulnerable children in our preschools in Arusha. We work with schools and partners to provide tailored, age-appropriate, and language-specific learning, supporting their holistic development.
We create continuing education & capacity building programs to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods, we help teachers make their classrooms engaging and successful in play-based learning.
Capacity Building for Local Teachers
Support for Grassroot Communities
Education and impact happen within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure grassroot communities have the necessary support to preserve their tradition.
Community Gardens for Nutrition Programs
Permaculture program improves nutrition and healthy eating among students and the community by providing free school lunches and training on managing community farms. It promotes local, indigenous practices and enhances preschool catering, leading to better food standards and health outcomes.
News: Through Participatory Creation, we built Tanzania’s first Community-led Regeneration Center.
Dedicated to Women and Children of Ormame.
Built between Kilimanjaro and Meru, Ormame - Tanzania’s first Maasai Community Regeneration Centre - reclaims architecture as a tool for cultural resilience, ecological restoration, and the protection of women and girls.
Created by UMHO and the Engutukoiti community, it is a living, community-led model where indigenous knowledge, regenerative agriculture, and shared leadership empower Maasai people to heal, regenerate, and inspire communities across Tanzania.
